Our cottage tonight.
Our cottage tonight.
The strawberry fields were big and the berries red and sweet. We picked seven kilos before we left.
Will this image be seen?
🍓 On today’s schedule: picking strawberries. We’re going to a big farm where you pick and pay. A good activity on a day like this, with a bit of wind and sun but no blazing heat.
All working good now.
Just got back to our cottage after a late run 🏃🏼♂️. The fields are more beautiful than ever right now. In two weeks time the harvesting will be on, and thereafter the feeling of autumn is hard to avoid. My right knee is hurting after five kilometres, still I couldn’t resist overdoing it.

Opened my phone after the run and saw that @manton has fixed the erratic scrolling when writing long blog posts. I’m trying it now. It holds. I am writing this on the iOS app and the post being well over 280 letters without a single bump or jump. Great job.

When I tried publishing this through the app it wouldn’t work. This is published via Safari.
/// Update 2 ///
The above didn’t work either. Seems to be something wrong.
/// Update 3 ///
Waking up Tuesday and all is working good again.
Today I got the message saying it’s time to book the second dose. I did, of course. Life is coming back, syringe by syringe.
What do you think of double green? Could that be a thing this autumn?
We’ve been having different guests here for pretty much three weeks straight. I feel a bit tired even though it’s been fun. Yesterday we celebrated my wife Helene’s birthday and got some friends over for dinner. The teenage gang went home during the afternoon so we were only three adults and four kids at the table. A small gathering compared to the eleven people dinners we’ve been having the last week.

We had a good time. Per did some hardcore fire grilling that we all complemented him for (in a sarcastic way), in our household we’re all terrible at grilling but we do it all the time. Failing is a part of the fun. Per did good. And the food was more than edible.

Everyone was hungry after spending the afternoon down by the lake, playing around with the SUP board and jumping off cliffs. I did one jump, from the highest spot. It’s getting harder to come over my fear the older I get. Young friend David did several jumps from another good spot. We had fun.
David.
Me.
For my wife Helene I got a Remarkable 2 tablet and an apple tree as birthday gifts. She liked them both very much. Today we’re going to plant the tree. Otherwise chill mode. No guests! Well, that’s not true. My parents well get by and say hello to Helene (and maybe bring a cake).
I have a couple of invites to Literal.club. Say hey if you’re interested.
I got a Remarkable 2 for my wife’s birthday. She’s loving it.
Forgot about posting this last night. My wife chasing the moon 🌙.
Very entertaining watching five 17 year olds unpack a tent. Well, try to. How it went? They decided to let it stand and bring the other tent, still in a bag. 😂
Is there a library for all microcasts published on Micro.blog? 🎙
It will be hot today too.
There’ll be only one photo in this post. I have been too busy to think of photography. The twins have a friend over for the weekend and her dad (very nice guy) stayed for lunch. I made potatoes with matjessill and gräddfil. Summer food! After that I did the dishes, packed a picnic and took all kids down to the lake. We stayed until we had to get back for dinner. The water is 25-26 degrees (Celsius that is). That’s unusual.

The teenage gang in the barn slept to 3 pm. I met them this morning just before they were going to bed. It was 9 am. They had stayed up all night. Tomorrow is Saturday. The day before my wife’s birthday. I have some stuff to do.

Finished reading: The Morning Star: A Novel by Karl Ove Knausgaard 📚
Review in short: Fantastic. Mysticism meets hardcore reality.
The sun sets in the area of Julita, Sweden. It’s been 🥵 hot today. Thanks goshness we have the lake nearby.
Finished reading: The Sunken Land Begins to Rise Again by M. John Harrison 📚
I liked this a lot. It’s a story where mysticism meats real post-brexit UK. Intriguing. 📚

Rekommenderas varmt.
Did a 3,5 km run in blazing sun. Now: water and shadow. Later: breakfast. 🏃🏼♂️
The guests keep coming there our cottage. My mother in law has been with us for a couple of days and today five of the oldest son’s friends came here.
Gunsan.
They’re staying in the barn (there’s a nice loft) for the rest of the week. It’s a tradition. They’ve been having a get together aka summer camp here for the last four years. It’s fun they want to come.
Our summer crew.
They sleep half the day, spend the rest of the day down by the lake and thereafter they stay up all night watching horror movies. We’ll see how the week turns out this year. They’re nice kids, but nice kids sometimes do stupid things. So far so good.
After pizza dinner for eleven people the daughter wanted to go for a bicycle ride. I made her company. It was a beautiful summer evening. Warm. Light. I love the fields here.
Me and my daughter on a bike ride.
The fields!
The weather forecast says the heat will continue.
This makes me feel happy. The twins cooperate.
