My day at home office this far: better than expected.
A late walk to the pharmacy feels like a treat after a day in front of the screen in the bedroom, aka “the office”.
My bike was stolen, I found out yesterday. It made me angry. It wasn’t an expensive one but I’ve put a lot of time fixing it and it was the perfect every day bike. No gears, a basket in front and steady as hell.
Luckily I have an old racer bike I can use in until I’ve got myself a new one. The old racer isn’t a bike you want to use during winter time. It’s way to wobbly. But it’s better than no bike at all. So today I fixed the flat tire and replaced the broken pedals for new ones. I cursed a few times but now it’s up and running.

Talked to my brother on the phone yesterday. He and his fiancé had a baby son a month ago. I’m happy to be a uncle for the fifth time.
How can so many different blog platforms exist? I am myself using several of them but hey, that’s not recommended if you want to build a steady audience.
I am done doing this for now. Good night.

Första veckan gjord på nya jobbet. Skönt att ha den överstökad.
En period är slut. I går gjorde jag min sista arbetsdag på branschredaktionerna för Byggindustrin och Fastighetsnytt. Det är ledsamt att lämna alla trevlig och kunniga kolleger men jag ser framemot den utmaning som nu väntar. På måndag, redan nu efter helgen, kliver jag in på DN och axlar tjänsten som nyhetschef för Stockholmsredaktionen. Jag ser mycket framemot detta även om jag är både lite nervös och mycket ödmjukt inställd till vad som väntar. Att lära sig fungera i en stor organisation är liksom ett jobb i sig, ett dolt jobb, som ibland tar väldigt mycket tid. Det är en del av arbetet som handlar om andra saker än nyheter. Man ska lära sig vilka andra funktioner och personer som ens egna arbete måste synkas med och förstå hur planeringen måste sköta för att ingen annan i kedjan drabbas. Först om några veckor är jag ha en hyfsad bild av vad det är för ett jobb jag tackat ja till. Det finns höga förväntningar på DN Sthlm, dock tror jag att de skiljer sig åt beroende på vem du frågar. Steg ett för mig blir att förstå hur de interna ser ut, skapa mig en så bra bild som möjligt av hur läsarnas förväntningar ser ut (både nuvarande och potentiella) och därefter försöka formulera en egen. Jag har vissa idéer redan nu men jag kommer att ligga lågt med dem tills jag har mer kunskap. Det kan ju vara så att jag tänker helt fel. Kom gärna med inspel på vad du vill läsa i DN Sthlm. Tomorrow I’m doing my last day at the business magazines Fastighetsnytt and Byggindustrin (about the real estate and construction businesses in Sweden). On Monday I’m doing my first day as news editor at Dagens Nyheter’s metropolitan section. That’s Sweden biggest daily, based in Stockholm. I’m a bit nervous. But I am very much looking forward to it.
