Woke up at 5.15 by myself. That never happens. I took it as a reminder, ate a banana and went to the gym.

I’m writing this on the phone sitting at a café in my neighbourhood. I’m eating a sandwich after an hour of working out at the nearby gym. This café is very old school. Neither the coffee, nor the sandwiches are that good, but it’s a place where everyone’s welcome. It opens at 6am every weekday which means a lot of old people made this their favourite place. It’s not cheap (we’re in Stockholm remember) but less pricy than the newer place a block away.
The view is better also. You have to climb the stairs to get a table and from up here you see everyone coming and going to the houses we’re living.
It makes you calm down, sitting here listening to old people talking about bad knees and stuff.

Back in the gym for some morning weights.
When the alarm clock rang I was about to shut it off and go back to sleep. Then I changed my mind and stuck to the plan. At 6 am I was in the gym a few blocks away from home. Now I’m glad I did.
Drog till gymmet efter frukost idag igen. Det var längesedan jag kände träningsglädje och det gäller att ta fasta på den när tillfälle ges. Tror att höstens benträning gjort att smärtan efter två dagars snowboardåkning 🏂 inte blev så farlig.
Har efter att ha läst guiden som Stand tall har på sin sajt lärt mig att det inte enbart är kroppslängd som avgör vilken bräda man bör välja. Vikt och skostorlek är minst lika viktigt. Låter självklart, men det är inget som jag någonsin tänkt på. Jag fastnade på ett gäng sidor när jag började googla. Det är mycket larvigt och extremt medelålders att vilja köpa dyra sportprylar som man egentligen inte behöver, men det är väldigt lockande. Men jag ska låta bli. Om intresset håller i sig ett år, och jag åker fler än fyra gånger denna vinter ska jag överväga det.
Today has been great fun. I’ve been snowboarding together with my daughter.
First day of the last work week in 2021 is over. It was quite good. Three more days and then I’m goint to have a week off. Looking forward to that a lot. I will take my daughter (the only child of mine who likes to do outdoor stuff) to a ski resort a couple of hours away. We are gping to do some snowboarding together. Great fun. Our last trip resulted in a bad knee, but I think I’ve managed to cure it with repeted gym time and less running than normal.
